I agree - there is a general preoccupation with "doing something" (TTPs) and much less on figuring out the underlying theory and patterns.  I'm eagerly awaiting Jake's paper :)</description>

As I stated in the SWJ posting string, IO is all about using all means available to control your adversary's understanding of reality, and preventing him from doing the same to you. Unfortunately, we tend to get hung up on the tools rather than the theory. I think Jake's paper will add greatly to this discussion. BBB</description>
