As a note, some of what I wrote here was influenced by Antoine Bousquet&#039;s The Scientific Way of Warfare&quot; (January, 2009 http://cup.columbia.edu/book/978-0-231-70078-8/the-scientific-way-of-warfare).  I find the interplay of metaphoric phases that he talks about resonates with Charlies mono- / poly- phasic ideas on consciousness / culture.</description>

What if someone was in the position of observer, vis-a-vis the static condition?  In other words, they could perceive the static condition but was only was capable of living in the dynamic?    

Do you think this describes &quot;shaman&quot; in this paradigm?</description>
